While offering four times the pixel density compared to standard 1080p displays, the 4k TV sets are still ridiculously expensive for many people. Quite recently, Samsung introduced the 85” S9 4k TV set, which is sold for a whopping $39,999.
On average, 4k TV sets are available for between $20,000 and $25,000. While 4k panels look impressive, the technology is still far from real commercial use. As a comparison, a 65” Plasma TV now costs less than $3,500, a relatively small price to pay as users also get deep black levels and great image details.
