4K TV Sets Are Still Not an Efficient Purchase

4K TV Sets

While offering four times the pixel density compared to standard 1080p displays, the 4k TV sets are still ridiculously expensive for many people. Quite recently, Samsung introduced the 85” S9 4k TV set, which is sold for a whopping $39,999.

On average, 4k TV sets are available for between $20,000 and $25,000. While 4k panels look impressive, the technology is still far from real commercial use. As a comparison, a 65” Plasma TV now costs less than $3,500, a relatively small price to pay as users also get deep black levels and great image details.

Sony Will Soon Release a Cheap 55” 4k TV

Sony Cheap 4K TVFew people are willing to spend more than $10,000 for a 4k TV, but it is reported that Sony will be delivering a 4k TV with much more acceptable price tag. The model will be available for purchase for only $5,000.  Previously, Sony introduced a more expensive 84” 4k TV set priced at $25,000.

The smaller 55” 4k set will set us back $5000, while a slightly bigger model with 65” screen costs $7,000. Many have argued that 4k TV will have limited effect to user experience. People are unlikely to distinguish difference in pixel density, unless they watch 4k TVs at short distance. Nevertheless, people with some disposable dollars will still find Sony’s 55” 4k TV reasonable.
