Unfortunately, Foxconn has allocated much of its resources producing display panels for various iOS devices. Consequently, Apple could be counting on LG Display for making enough 4k panels for its new TV model. Demands for new Apple products are typically high and the company needs full production before launching its new Apple TV model. It should be ready for release next year and we may see more 4k content available in 2014.
Few people are willing to spend more than $10,000 for a 4k TV, but it is reported that Sony will be delivering a 4k TV with much more acceptable price tag. The model will be available for purchase for only $5,000. Previously, Sony introduced a more expensive 84” 4k TV set priced at $25,000.
The smaller 55” 4k set will set us back $5000, while a slightly bigger model with 65” screen costs $7,000. Many have argued that 4k TV will have limited effect to user experience. People are unlikely to distinguish difference in pixel density, unless they watch 4k TVs at short distance. Nevertheless, people with some disposable dollars will still find Sony’s 55” 4k TV reasonable.
